Some individuals believe that the government should provide financial support for large artworks, such as sculptures, for public display in outdoor spaces. I believe that governments should invest in large public artworks because they can attract visitors, promote tourism, and increase a country’s international recognition, although essential services should still remain a priority. Therefore, I partially agree with this statement.

On the one hand, the government should invest in large public artworks, as they can attract tourists and enhance a country’s international reputation. Nowadays, some countries are becoming less appealing to visitors due to a lack of distinctive art and cultural attractions. Tourists often seek new experiences or opportunities to explore a country’s culture, such as monuments, sculptures, and other artworks. For example, France is one of the most popular tourist destinations largely because of its art; many visitors come to see masterpieces like the Mona Lisa, painted by Leonardo da Vinci. Consequently, investing in art can attract tourists and generate revenue for local authorities. Therefore, governments should allocate funds to public artworks in certain situations.

However, the government should also prioritize residents’ healthcare. Many people face serious health issues because they cannot afford proper medical care. If authorities focus more on funding artworks rather than building hospitals or providing essential services, it could have severe consequences for public well-being. For example, in some regions, there are too few hospitals, and even when healthcare facilities exist, many individuals cannot afford the treatment due to insufficient funds. Therefore, while investing in art can have cultural benefits, governments should ensure that basic healthcare needs are met first.

In conclusion, while the government should allocate financial resources to support large public artworks, such as sculptures in parks and streets, it is equally important to prioritize residents’ healthcare. Therefore, I partially agree with this statement, as both cultural development and basic public services are essential for a country’s well-being.
