Nowdays environmental problems are getting worse and many people discuss who should take responsibility. Some people say that protecting the environment is only job for politicians because normal people can do very little. I partially agree with this statment because government have power to make big laws, but I also beleive that individuals action is also necessary.
On the one hand, politicians have main power to control environmental issues on a large scale. Goverments can create new strict laws to limit pollution from big factories and force companies to use green energy like solar or wind. Moreover, politicians can invest money in public transport and ban single-use plastic in whole country. For example, if government do not prohibit big factories from dumping waste into rivers, normal citizens cannot stop this big problem by just recycling at home. This shows that politicians play the most important role.
On the other hand, I do not agree that individuals can do nothing. If millions of ordinary people change their daily habits, it can make huge difference for nature. For instance, people can use public transport instead of personal cars, save water, and stop buying unnesessary plastic items. If everyday consumers refuse to buy products from polluting companies, these businesses will have to change their ways. Therefore, single actions of citizens are also very effective when everyone work together.
In concluson, protecting nature is not only responsibility of politicians. Although government must lead and pass strict rules, ordinary people should also take care of nature in their daily lifes.
