It is thought that the level of crime rates will decrease dramatically as technology in present days mitigate the ways of detecting criminals. Although , the technology could discover criminal actions , I believe that enhance opportunities for criminals to cerate new types of crime.
To begin with , with advanced technology , there is high chance to find offender as quickly as possible . There are special cameras with facial recognition that available in public places that could find any person immediately. For example, in the UK many robbery and assult cases are solved using facial recognition from public cameras . Furthermore ,due to IT , cybercrime could be easily detected. Banks use AI systems to detect unusual transactions. For instance , if someone tries to transfer a large amount of money from a foreign country , the system blocks it automatically. Additionally , such companies as Google and Facebook use algoritms to detect hacking attempts.
However , offenders create more and more fake platforms , websites or even emails with VPN to hide their identities that are common nowadays. For example , hackers steal data from companies with thousands of users and aim to blackmail them. In addition , social crimes such as domestic violence and street fight are still exist , regardless of technology.
In conclusion , with regard to technology there are certain types of crime which level are decreased , however due to progress in digital era criminals create new ways to commit a crime.
