The pie charts illustrate how often social media was used by males and females in Australia in 2011 and 2014. Overall, the uasge of social media at the initiating period was not wide - spread as in 2014 among both genders and the propotions changed significantly over the course of 3 years.

In 2011, number of men using social media on a daily basis comprised a quater, experiencing a considerable increase at 45% at the ending period. Similarly, women made up 30% at the starting period and had a bigger proportional growth than men in 2014 reaching almost three fifth. Males tendency to use social networks once a week barely changed over time with respective figures of 12% and 9%. Conversely, the most striking change was observed in women, whose usage once a week significantly dropped from nearly 40% to only one in ten.

Men who used social platforms few times a week accounted for 19% in 2011 and 16% at the ending period, with women standing at 22% and 9% respectively. Number of men who never used social media decreased from approximately 44% to just below one third. In contrast, that of women encountered major growth from 8% to 22%.
