Examiner feedback

This is a solid Band 6.0 response. It clearly communicates the main trends and supports them with data. To improve, work on a more comprehensive overview and focus on the accuracy of articles and more varied vocabulary for describing data movements.

Task Achievement - 6

- The response covers the main trends and identifies key features such as peaks and intersections. - An overview is provided, though it misses the fact that the Vatican museum eventually became the most popular. - Data is used to support the description, but some key figures are approximated vaguely (e.g., 'just above 9 million').

Coherence & Cohesion - 6

- The information is organized logically by grouping museums with similar trends (upward vs. downward/fluctuating). - Cohesive devices are used appropriately, though some transitions like 'As for' and 'Looking first at' are a bit mechanical. - Paragraphing is used sufficiently to separate the overview from the detail.

Lexical Resource - 6

- The vocabulary is generally adequate for describing trends (e.g., 'noticeable rise', 'fluctuated', 'surpassed'). - There is some repetition of 'the figure for' and 'increased'. - Meaning is clear, though the word choice is somewhat restricted to basic reporting.

Grammatical Range & Accuracy - 6

- A mix of simple and complex sentence forms is used, but there are errors in article usage (e.g., 'the Shenzhen', 'London science museum'). - Tense usage is generally correct for the time period (past tense). - Punctuation is mostly accurate, though there is an unnecessary capitalization after 'In contrast'.
