The bar chart shows the number of trips made by men and women for five different purposes in one year in a European country.
Overall, men made more trips than women for travelling to work, while women made more trips for shopping. For the other purposes, the numbers were quite similar between the two genders.
Travelling to work was the most common purpose for both men and women. Men made about 325 trips for this purpose, which is much higher than women, who made around 215 trips. This was the biggest difference in the chart.
Shopping was the most popular purpose for women, with about 250 trips, compared to only 195 trips for men. For visiting friends, women also made slightly more trips than men, with 215 trips against 195.
Sports and entertainment trips were almost the same for both groups, with women making about 140 trips and men about 150 trips. Day trips were the least common purpose overall, with men making 60 trips and women making only 30 trips.
