The line graph illustrates the average prices of three types of media devices between 2020 and 2026, while the bar chart compares the payment methods used by four age groups when purchasing these devices in 2020.

Overall, the average price of laptops increased steadily over the period, whereas televisions became considerably cheaper. By contrast, the cost of mobile phones rose only slightly. In terms of payment methods, buying devices outright was the most common option among older people, while younger consumers were more likely to use alternative payment methods.

In 2020, the average cost of a laptop was approximately $2,000, making it the most expensive device. This figure rose consistently to around $2,500 by 2026. Meanwhile, the price of televisions fell from roughly $1,450 to $1,000, representing the largest decline among the three products. Mobile phone prices, however, increased modestly from about $1,250 to $1,450 over the six-year period.

Regarding payment methods, nearly 80% of people aged 60 and above purchased devices outright, while only around 20% used payment plans. Among those aged 40โ€“59, outright payment also predominated at approximately 57%. In contrast, the 18โ€“25 age group showed the highest proportion of other payment methods (around 40%), whereas people aged 26โ€“39 most commonly purchased devices outright, accounting for roughly 45%.
