The diagram illustrates the fire escape plan for the second floor of a college student accommodation building.

Overall, the floor has seven bedrooms arranged around a central corridor, and it offers two separate emergency exit routes leading to different outdoor meeting points.

To use the first exit route, residents must walk to the left side of the corridor. Here, they can use a set of stairs that leads down out of the building. Once outside, they should gather at Meeting Point 1, which is located just next to these stairs. This route is closest to Bedrooms 1, 2, and 3.

Alternatively, residents can head to the top-right section of the floor. This area features another set of stairs and a lift. However, the lift has an "X" on it, meaning it cannot be used during a fire. Residents must use these top stairs to exit and walk to Meeting Point 2, located at the back of the building. This route is closest to Bedrooms 4, 5, 6, and 7.
